Vortex is a 100-cost frontliner that specializes in killing medium units at mid-range.

Technologies
Increases range by 40
Increases Vortex's range by 10. Increases ATK of ground friendly units within 100m by 20% (Does not stack).
Attacks inflict Electromagnetic interference on the target and enemies within a 10m radius.
At the start of battle, spawns 1 Level 1 Vortex Mirage behind itself. The Mirage has 1 HP and 30% of a standard Vortex's ATK.
Accumulates energy while attacking. Every 11 attacks, deploys a 40m radius energy shield at the current location. The shield has a base HP of 5,000, increasing by an additional 5,000 HP per Vortex level.
Links with other Vortex within 35m. Increases ATK by 15% for each additional linked unit, up to a maximum of 195%.
When HP first falls below 50%, activates Emergency Armor, resisting all damage and becoming untargetable for 4 seconds. Emergency Armor will not activate if HP reaches 0.
Increases HP by 30% and automatically restores 4.5% of Max HP per second upon taking damage
Strategy
With its high damage and HP, the Vortex shines brightest when used as a brawler. With relatively low range, it prefers mid-range fights, such as aggressive or defensive games. Without techs and levels, it is a good early game option against Hounds, Sledgehammers and Steel Balls. However, the Vortex can go toe to toe with even some of the biggest ground mechs once it gets a few techs and levels. As a DPS carry, this unit requires a lot of investment. Range Enhancement, Grid Integration and Electromagnetic Twin all synergize to make a bundle of Vortexes take on anything but the tankiest of mechs. It can also be equipped with some supportive techs, such as Mobile Power Station, Electromagnetic Cloud and Accumulator Shield. Finally, you may choose to enhance its role as a tank, with Field Maintenance or Emergency Armor.
