Strategy

As a base unit, Overlord stays a safe distance behind any tank in the game, demands a strong anti-air response from the opponent, and generally deletes any non-giant unit in a volley or two. However, the true might of the Overlord tends to reveal itself once a few technologies are purchased. A common combo is Launcher Overload + Range Enhancement, to double the Overlord’s DPS and clear speed. Overlord Artillery also provides a fearsome DPS threat without sacrificing range. Photon Emission gives a ton of temporary power in a large area while also serving as the only way to protect air units from EMP abilities. Jump Drive lets an Overlord player reposition a majority of their army every turn, so their opponent must constantly make uninformed guesses about how to respond. Mothership allows the Overlord to periodically produce its own chaff to protect itself. Ultimately, with enough technologies, Overlord eventually becomes one of the most powerful units in the game.
